Welcome to Caribbean WebCams!

Caribbean WebCams (CWC) specializes in Web Camera (WebCam) installations in the Caribbean, both underwater and above, and is the first company in the world to install and operate permanent underwater reef web cameras - including the Bonaire Pier ReefCam and Bonaire Wreck ReefCam. Combining custom made equipment, stock electronics, special software, and extensive know-how, CWC can develop a WebCam system to suit any need, with a focus on tourism related WebCam efforts.

Grunts on the Bonaire Wreck ReefCamTourism efforts in the Caribbean and elsewhere really benefit from a WebCam system which shows potential visitors what they are missing by not being on vacation at the destination shown by the cameras - sunshine, gentle breezes, warm water, amazing underwater critter life (like the hawksbill turtle at left), other tourists enjoying themselves, and more.

CWC has received numerous e-mails from fans of its initial efforts, with fans praising the company for having shared a little bit of paradise with them while they handle the drudgery of work and mundane daily tasks in colder climates.

Projects
CWC's first installation of a comprehensive above and underwater WebCam and Web weather monitoring system has been completed on the island of Bonaire, in the Dutch Caribbean, and the results can be seen at http://www.BonaireWebCams.com (click on the Project History menu option for some details of installation). The Bonaire WebCams site currently garners over 1,000 visitors a day who yearn for the tropical clime and excellent diving Bonaire has to offer. (See our Press Releases and Press Clippings.)

Additional system designs and related research and development are underway as well, including long-range wireless systems.

Services
CWC's services including equipment procurement, system design and installation, and maintenance and training. Prices for a turnkey above-ground WebCam installation with two cameras start at only about $5,500, including installation (but not travel expenses). Rugged underwater camera systems will obviously cost more, but can be mounted up to 5,000 feet from shore, at depths of up to 165 feet (50 meters), with special night lighting available as an option. Access to the Internet via a direct connection or dial-up phone line is required at the site where the CWC WebCam server hardware should be installed.
